Therapeutic Beekeeping

Beekeeping requires focus, effort, and the ability to “tune in” to the world of the bees. It’s a project that can give people a sense of purpose through working with the bees, creating community, and having a positive impact on the environment. Therapeutic Beekeeping is shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and is greatly beneficial for both individuals and communities.

Therapeutic Beekeeping: About My Project

There are beekeeping projects around the world working to make this accessible for all in a shared mission to share the benefits with bees to those how need it.

Therapeutic Beekeeping: Projects

These are just a few examples of beekeeping therapy programs that are having a powerful impact on people. This is made possible by connecting people with each other, bees, and nature through creating welcoming green spaces were people can engage in meaningful work.

See if there is a project in your community that you can get involved with. Whether you want to learn more about beekeeping or support someone in their process of healing, therapeutic beekeeping is a special way to connect with people in a mutual effort to learn from bees!

Therapeutic Beekeeping: Text

The way that bees can connect people with their communities is incredible and working with programs that exist in your local area is a great way to get started. This is not always feasible, considering the unique circumstances we are in now, but beekeeping has the same power to connect us with nature and communities from home. Start by observing bees and starting your own small hive! You will quickly learn to appreciate bees, their societies, and the importance that they have on our environment and food systems.
